Grief is one’s response to a loss. This is not limited to the loss of a loved one. Grief can occur from the loss of (or anticipated loss of) a marriage, dream/goal, good health, job/career, home/sentimental property, or financial stability.

In any of these instances where an individual has experienced loss, the use of coping skills can be very beneficial. Healthy habits such as surrounding oneself in positivity and support, indulging in self-care to allow oneself to truly feel and express any suppressed emotions, connecting with others, and establishing a routine with planned activities to apply structure to one’s life.
