Creating My Safe Space
Everyone needs a place where they can feel calm, peaceful, and safe. Your safe space can be real (like a cozy corner or your favorite spot outside) or imagined (like a beach, treehouse, or magical world). This journaling guide will help you describe, design, and name your own special space. You can return to it anytime you need to breathe, relax, and feel better.
What does my safe space look like?
Describe what your safe space looks like.
Is it indoors, imaginary, or outdoors? What sounds do you hear? What colors do you see?
What can you add to your safe space?
Write or draw things you can add to your safe space that make you feel happy and peaceful. What things do you enjoy? What music do you like? What foods do you like? Do you have a favorite book, toy, or journal?
How can you go to your safe space?
Breathe: Center yourself.
Connect: Use what makes you feel calm.
Imagine: Close your eyes.
What will you name your safe space?
